INCOME Tracker SpreadsheetS
As instructed by our queen Britney Spears in her iconic 2013 anthem, you'd better "Work B*tch"!
Money can be a stressful topic for entrepreneurs and freelancers, but it doesn't have to be. You're already working hard and delivering quality work so there's no reason you shouldn't get paid for it in a way that makes you proud and motivated! It's important to have income goals and a plan to reach them, and that's especially true if you want to grow your website and business this year.
For the past few years, I've been religiously tracking my income every month in order to make sure that I'm on track to reach my (often ambitious) goals. I knew that if I wanted to see results, I'd have to stay focused and check in on my income regularly.
When it comes to tracking and planning out your income, there are SO many factors that come into play. Obviously you have to look at the raw numbers of how much money you're making, but what if you want to get a better of picture of how that money is coming in? If you're monetizing your website through different streams (such as products, services, advertising, affiliate programs and sponsored content), how do those fit into a basic income tracker? I quickly realized that in order to see the full picture, you have to look the total income across all revenue streams.
These different income streams are all major contributors to meeting your income goals and growing your numbers over time so if you track them all in one place, you'll have a much better understanding of how you're making money - and, most importantly, if you're on track to meet your goals.
The Income Tracker Spreadsheets are an extension of the popular Revenue page in my Website Growth Tracker. One of the biggest points of feedback I received from that original product was that the Revenue page is a super helpful starting point but customers wanted an even more detailed and robust way to track their income.
The Income Tracker Spreadsheets collects and tracks data from multiple income streams and expenses related to your website and online business, and shows you how the money is coming in every month and also on a yearly basis. It's a visual and interactive way to track that money, yo!
If you want to track the income from your website or other online business streams, these Income Planner Spreadsheets are for you! They'll help you to set and monitor your goals and get a more accurate look at how you can earn money through various income streams over time!

Here's a quick rundown of what we cover in the video demo:
1. Income and Expenses Overview
The first page of the spreadsheet looks at income and expenses overview on monthly and annual basis. Start off by inputting your income numbers at the end of every month, which will auto-populate the total amounts and annual numbers. Do the same with the expenses section.
Those numbers will auto-populate the pie chart that shows a breakdown of income sources and what percentage each section makes up on an annual basis. There's also a section for Notes.
The monthly income numbers also populate a timeline graph which breaks down the total numbers by income stream.
2. Track Services Income
If you monetize your website through services, this section is how you'll see where the money is coming from and when it's coming in.
You will name each service section, input the price as well as how many you plan to sell during each quarter for an initial overview. Next up, you'll break that down further into detailed looks at each quarter (Q1: January, February, March / Q2: April, May June / Q3: July, August, September / Q4: October, November, December). This allows you to predict any changes in revenue if you have a big promotion, launch, media coverage that results in sales, etc.
3. Track Products Income
If you monetize your website through products, this section is how you'll see where the money is coming from and when it's coming in.
You will name each product, input the price as well as how many you plan to sell during each quarter for an initial overview.
4. Track Affiliate Income
If you use any sort of affiliate program, you can store all the program information here as well as predict how much you'll get paid out in every quarter. There's also a monthly breakdown for each program and a look at how much you'll make in commissions based on the number of sales you refer. Simply rename each affiliate program, adjust the price payout you'll receive and the number of commissions you plan to refer. The rest will autopopulate.
We also look at each quarter on a monthly basis for each affiliate program so that you can see how any big promotions affect your profits.
5. Track Advertising Income
If you use any sort of advertising program (display, sidebar, etc.), you can store all the program information here as well as track how much you'll get paid out every month and annually. Add your numbers at the end of every month and the annual section will auto-populate.
6. Track Sponsored Content Income
If you accept any sort of sponsored content associated with your website , you can store all the program information here as well as track how much you'll get paid out every month and annually. Add your numbers at the end of every month and the annual section will auto-populate.
7. Log Expenses (predicted and actual)
Start off by making a list of all expenses related to your website/business.
Next, input the values (predicted and actual) for those expenses at the end of every month. The total/annual expenses amounts will auto-populate.
