Hello hello, sharing some exciting news with you today!

My dear friend/biz bestie Paige Bruton, recently launched her new podcast called the Online Business Besties and I am thrilled to be featured as her first guest!

BACKSTORY

Paige and I met while we were both working remotely from Bali in 2018 (hear the funny story about how I shamelessly slid into her DM’s in this episode!). Since then, we’ve become great friends and even have a weekly mastermind meeting.

She lives in Germany and travels often around Europe/North America, whereas I’m Bali-based but also travel around SE Asia on the regular. Between the two of us, we’ve worked & travelled from 3 continents, countless countries and cities, and who knows how many time zones.

We’re a couple of Canadian cuties who have major cases of wanderlust but we also love to fatten up our bank accounts while we’re on the road.

We don’t let our globetrotting get in the way of running successful websites or online businesses either- in fact, we’ve both been able to grow our businesses while working & travelling, and we know you can do the same!

In this podcast episode, we share our stories, backgrounds and how we got started working and travelling. But there’s so much more to our chat than that.

Here's what my typical day looks like as a Squarespace SEO expert during the global pandemic

Let’s start off this post by stating the obvious: we’re in the middle of a global pandemic, thanks to COVID-19!

Life as we know it is no longer the same and it’s impacting every aspect of our daily lives: work & business, personal finances, health & fitness, social interactions, staying at home vs going out in public, emotions and mental health, screen time… you name it, it’s different from a few months ago!

I’m writing this post in the middle of May 2020 at by now, we’ve all settled into some sort of “new normal” routine. It’s kind of whack to think about but humans are adaptable and we are all just doing our best and making the most out of this insane situation.

Earlier this week, I published a blog post where I talked about how I’m making the most of Lockdown 2020. Looking at the numbers, I can tell that people like this type of blog post because it’s a post that has received a crazy amount of traffic & visits lately! I decided to give you more of what you want and write a “day in my life” blog post so that you can see a more detailed breakdown of how I’m spending my time during this global pandemic.

Way back in May 2017, I published “Here’s what my typical day looks like as a web designer/developer” and it’s really fun and interesting to reflect on what has changed since then and how in other ways the foundation of my daily schedule looks so similar, even though years have passed and the situation is completely different.

I hope that you enjoy seeing this “behind the scenes” look at what a fairly typical day looks like for me right now, how I’m still running my business during the pandemic, what projects and products/services I’m working on, and how I’m spending my time. Personally, I really enjoy seeing how my peers (and other creatives) run their businesses and schedule their time and I love playing the comparison game to my own schedule. I usually find myself picking up pointers or suggestions along the way so hopefully there are things here that resonate with you!

Making the most of lockdown 2020

Lockdown 2020, what a wild ride! Can you believe we’re already in the second week of May? Like, whaaaaaaat? We used to say “time flies when you’re having fun” and I guess that’s still true, although now I’m thinking we need to change it to “time flies when you’re in the middle of a global pandemic” LOL!

Jokes aside, I wanted to write a blog post that sums up my experience with the Covid-19 lockdown and how it has impacted my life and business thus far.

Personally, I think it will be really neat to look back at this post in a few months/years to see where my head was at, what I was up to, how I was keeping busy and staying sane.

I also know that we’re all voyeurs to some extent, and everyone loves to creep each other on the internet. It’s fascinating to see how our own experiences are the same or different from someone else’s, so I hope that you enjoy this little glimpse and snapshot of my life right now.

As a general rule, I keep the content on this blog primarily work related and don’t share a whole lot of “personal” posts. That being said, this is going to be one of those posts that covers both business and “real life” so hopefully it’s still interesting to you!
